RRDtool very slow when using Solaris Zones

Reported by: human Owned by: oetiker

Component: rrd_graph Version: 1.3.6

Description

RRDtool is running very slow when it's painting graphs in a Solaris 10 (Kernel 138888-03) Zone (virtualization). I tested three different SPARC servers (architecture SUN4U,SUN4US,SUN4V). RRDtool causes high cpu load. Graphs appear after about one minute.

Christian,

I have no such setup. You could use the valgrind suite to figure out what is beging slow ... also running truss on the process might provide some insight.

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

I could be that one source of the problem was font caching. this has been much improved with 1.4.5 (due out in a few days) please test again.
