Please read INSTALL for installation instructions. The scripts in the bin directory contain the POD documentation. To read it use %SAA_fetchstart.pl -man or %pod2man SAA_fetchstart.pl | nroff -man | more SAA_fetchstart.pl contains the main docs. SAA_fetchstart and the related scripts in this archive form an interface between a MRTG host and a Cisco IOS device running SAA (formerly RTR). The scripts allow to include the results of SAA round trip time and loss measurements in MRTG. The applications for this code are: - MRTG latency monitoring of network paths, which don't include an MRTG host (but a Cisco) - Advanced latency and loss measurements in MRTG e.g. TCP connect, DNS/DHCP, "precedence-colored" pings - Statistical latency values monitoring - e.g. average/ median/standard deviation of latency, loss percentage, path availability etc. - Scaling of MRTG installations with excessive MRTG host CPU loads or ping traffic by offloading work to Ciscos - Consolidation of MRTG installations with multiple MRTG hosts joerg.kummer at roche.com 15/1/04
